Dunfermline Athletic have sacked manager Michael Tidser after just nine weeks in charge. The Championship strugglers have fired their manager after they lost the Fife derby 2-0 to Raith Rovers on Friday. The young manager was in charge for just eight league games, where he got two wins, two draws and there were four defeats. The new Pars owners headhunted Tidser from Kelty Hearts after they took over in January. Dunfermline chief executive David Cook informed Tidser of the club’s decision this morning. Dunfermline invested heavily in players but the signings were done via analytics and club consultant John Colquhoun and had very little input from Tidser. The Fifers sit second bottom of the Championship. They are one point behind Hamilton but just six in front of Airdrie. James Bord and his American board bought the club in January. The previous board had sacked manager James McPake at the end of December. The decision to sack Tidser was made after a poor run of results, with the team struggling to find form in the Championship. The search for a new manager is now underway, with the club looking to appoint someone who can turn their season around. Dunfermline's fans will be hoping that the new manager can bring some much-needed stability and success to the club. The club's owners will be looking to make a swift appointment, with the aim of getting the team back on track as soon as possible.
