Connor Young has been challenged to impose himself on the Dunfermline first-team squad after a successful loan spell away from the club last season. Young was one of the first signings under new owners James Bord and Evan Sofer in January last year. A prolific scorer for Edinburgh City, netting 19 times in 28 appearances, the Pars shelled out a transfer fee to land the former Hibernian and Rangers youngster. He made a promising start to life in Fife but sustained ankle ligament damage in Neil Lennon's debut match in charge of the East End Park just a couple of months later. After featuring in the first four league games of last season, Young then dropped down Lennon's pecking order and was farmed out to East Kilbride at the start of the new year. The 19-year-old is now being challenged to prove himself in the first-team squad, with the club's new owners eager to see him make a bigger impact. Young has the talent and ability to make a real difference for Dunfermline, and it will be interesting to see how he responds to the challenge.
