Dunfermline were defeated 4-1 by Aberdeen in a pre-season friendly on Saturday. The match, played as part of the Mo Hutton Testimonial, saw the Championship side take a first-half lead before being overrun after the break.
Keith Bray put Dunfermline ahead in the 36th minute, finishing from close range after a scramble in the box. Aberdeen had equalised earlier through Jack Milne in the 22nd minute. The visitors then made eight changes at half-time and took control, with Ayoub Mouloua scoring twice in the 48th and 60th minutes. Lewis Smith added a fourth goal with eight minutes remaining.
Dunfermline had chances, with Daniel Klein making a double save from Zak Rudden and Joe Morrison early on. Kevin Nisbet and Rudden also saw goals disallowed for offside. The result leaves Dunfermline fifth in the Championship with 12 points from seven games. Their next match is a league fixture away to Ayr United on 10 October.
Aberdeen manager Stephen Robinson handed a first start to new German goalkeeper Daniel Klein. Robinson said the game was "a very good workout for the Dons with a lot of positives ahead of the St Johnstone game next weekend." Dunfermline now turn their focus to the trip to Somerset Park.
